Our aims
Our goal is better healthcare for all Queenslanders.
Not only does this involve ensuring everyone is aware of their basic right to access safe, quality healthcare. It also involves taking a proactive approach to working with the thousands of healthcare providers in Queensland, helping them to achieve a better standard of care and to engender a culture of continuous improvement.
We take a unique approach to quality improvement - one that is focused on the long-term improvement of the entire sector. We take POSITIVE HEALTH ACTION.
Our POSITIVE HEALTH ACTION vision underpins everything we do, from responding to a single patient's concern, to working with a major hospital to implement a new surgical safety check.
We have five values which are reflected in the way we recruit and nurture our people; engage with clients, healthcare providers and community leaders; and communicate with Queenslanders. They are:
Respect – we actively listen to and support our clients and stakeholders.
Integrity – we are honest, transparent and impartial; we use sound evidence, research and reasoning to inform decisions.
Independence – we are courageous, engage in robust debate and question the status quo.
Learning – we continuously improve our processes to influence quality improvement in healthcare.
Responsiveness – we are timely and accurate.
