Legislation

The Health Quality and Complaints Commission was established under the Health Quality and Complaints Commission Act 2006 (the HQCC Act).
 
The Act commenced on 1 July 2006 and was last updated on 1 July 2012.
 
The main objects of the Act are to provide for:
  • oversight and review of, and improvement in, the quality of health services, and
  • independent review and management of health complaints.
