Duty to improve

All Queensland healthcare providers (individuals or organisations) have a legal duty to establish, maintain and implement reasonable processes to improve the quality of their health services. more   

Annual Quality and Activity Return (AQAR)

All Queensland public and licensed private acute and day hospitals are required to report against the Annual Quality and Activity Return (AQAR) reporting for the period 1 July 2012 to 30 June 2013 begins on Thursday 1 August 2013. more

Reportable events monitoring

We monitor reportable events and root cause analysis (or RCA) reviews conducted by Queensland hospitals and other healthcare providers following adverse healthcare incidents. more

Healthcare quality improvement

We make or endorse recommendations for healthcare safety and quality improvement. more 

Healthcare standards

Our healthcare standards require hospitals to meet benchmarks in key clinical and governance areas. Full details of the standards are available online or for download. more

We support the development of new knowledge through research and the sharing of that knowledge to improve healthcare safety and quality. more
